Velux: European-wide web projects for the Danish company
Three projects for Velux: the B2B management software for quotes and installation certificates, the Daylight Renders software and Tracking Intelligence, which classifies construction sites and projects.
- Web platform

The client
Velux is a historic Danish company specializing in the production of windows and skylights.
We have collaborated with our client on web projects at European and national level (Velux has more than 2,000 retailers in Italy).
Velux VIP
We designed and developed management software with a microservices architecture for handling quotations and creating installation certificates by dealers and agents.
The software is a B2B solution aimed at authorised companies that install Velux products directly.
Velux Daylight Renders
We took part in the European project for Velux Daylight Renders, the platform where users upload photos of a room and receive a render of the same room with Velux windows. The request is saved: when users come back to the platform, they find all their files ready, photos and videos.
Whoever prepares the renders works from a back-office panel, while a coordinator panel keeps Velux, external suppliers and render artists in touch.
We also integrated HubSpot, at every step of the guided procedure, and Salesforce.
Tracking Intelligence
We also took part in building Tracking Intelligence, a platform that classifies construction sites and projects. Files from data providers are uploaded and fed to a black box, which returns the construction sites and projects matching the user's interests. Besides browsing the data, users can see it on a map thanks to geolocation.
Velux VIP development
Quotations, certificates and the dashboard are separate applications that communicate through dedicated APIs, in a microservices architecture. Access goes through a Single Sign-On based on CAS (Central Authentication Service). The applications are written in Ruby on Rails, Node.js and Go, with data stored in PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
Tracking Intelligence development
We developed the backend in Django and integrated an artificial intelligence algorithm in Python that analyses the data, with RabbitMQ managing the process queue. Geographic information is shown on Google Maps and the data is stored in PostgreSQL.
