COOPI: M&E Plan, project tracking and reporting system
M&E Plan is the platform COOPI uses to plan the objectives and indicators of its projects and record their results every month.

The client
COOPI is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) active in 33 countries around the world, engaged in the implementation of development and emergency projects.
The objective
COOPI had to follow the activities of each project and report on them to its donors. What it lacked was a single platform to plan objectives and indicators, enter the results achieved and produce reports from them.
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
Each project is broken down into objectives, sub-objectives, activities and indicators. Three areas work on this structure, two of them named after the ITT (Indicator Tracking Table).
- ITT Plan, where indicators and expected results are updated; the expected total is recalculated automatically.
- ITT Progress, where actual results are entered every month; the platform calculates progress, variance and project status.
- Monitoring, which shows the ITT Progress data in read-only mode and provides free fields for notes on analysis and on issues to be handled.
Development
We built the backend in Ruby on Rails, with the data in PostgreSQL, and the interface in React. Access is restricted to authorised users, with authentication via JWT tokens.
